The Criterion, situated in the heart of Piccadilly Circus, is an elegant and breathtakingly beautiful restaurant. Originally opened in 1874, under new ownership, the Grade II listed lavish has undergone a gentle and sympathetic restoration of its spectacular interiors. The stunning original features remain intact, particularly noteworthy are the gilded ceilings, marble floors, mirrored walls and imposing arches, while new furniture in soft muted colours and low level lamps have refreshed and warmed the space.

Head Chef, Matthew Foxon, has created a Modern European menu that is simple and luxurious, sourcing the finest and freshest ingredients from the British Isles. Fish is freshly caught every morning in the small fishing village of Looe in Cornwall. Meat is all rare breed and sourced from individual farms, free range and out door reared, hung for a minimum of five weeks and butchered on the premises where possible. Bread and butter is made in house, additionally the brigade smoke their own fish and make their own pasta, ricotta, ice cream and sorbet. A Set Menu is available at lunch and pre and post theatre as well as the A La Carte. Afternoon tea is served Thursday and Sunday.

Service is attentive and professional, yet friendly. Live music every Friday and Saturday night from 7pm and Jazz trios from 7.30pm on Sundays add to the charming ambience.
