The Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials is one of the world's premier three-star three-day events. Set in the magnificent grounds of Blenheim Palace, the horse trials offer a fabulous opportunity to see some of the world's finest riders and their horses compete against one another in a truly spectacular environment. Blenheim began in 1990, after the three-day event held at Chatsworth was ended. The venue has since become popular both for national and international events, beginning in 1994 with the FEI European Young Rider Championships. In 2003, Blenheim hosted the Asia-Pacific Championships as a qualifier for the 2004 Athens Olympics. Sixteen nations were represented and several European, World, and Olympic Champions competed. This year Piggy French held onto her lead in a thrilling finale to the Fidelity Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials and scored her first senior three-star CCI win. Over 138,000 motor sport enthusiasts and vintage fashion fans flocked to this years Goodwood to join in the fun and celebrations at the world�s largest historic motor race meeting, which by common consent was deemed the best yet. The Goodwood Revival is firmly established as a �must attend� event, with visitors travelling from around the world. The vast majority of the spectators came dressed in their finest 1940s, 1950s and 1960s fashions, with tweed jackets and pleated skirts abounding in the early autumn sunshine, and occasional rain. On the track a tribute to the legendary racing driver Juan Manuel Fangio - 100 years after this birth - saw a grid of rare and stunning cars associated with his career, including three spectacular Mercedes-Benz racers, plus two Chevrolets bought over from Argentina specifically for the Revival. A handful of drivers that knew and raced with Fangio were also on hand. Additionally, Goodwood staged its largest ever Revival vehicle parade with 100 British-built Fords lapping the circuit as this popular marque celebrated its centenary in the UK. The first London Fashion Week event took place in 1984, and featured a diverse group of designers, including David Fielden, Ghost and John Galliano. The week featured catwalk shows and fashion industry booths and events, and was produced by the British Fashion Council. London Fashion week It is held twice each year, in February and September. It currently ranks alongside New York, Paris and Milan as one of the 'Big Four' fashion weeks. It celebrates its 26th year in 2011; The current venue for most of the "on-schedule" events is Somerset House in central London, where a large marquee in the central courtyard hosts a series of catwalk shows by top designers and fashion houses, while an exhibition, housed within Somerset House itself, shows over 150 designers. www.londonfashionweek.co.uk
